Andrew Foulds

Andrew Foulds

Andrew Foulds is serving his third term as Current River Ward Councillor. He takes a passionate interest in issues such as poverty, economic development, parks, equity, diversity, and the environment.

Andrew has been speaking to citizens during this year’s election campaign, and heard three main concerns: infrastructure and road maintenance, parks and greenspaces, and jobs and our economy.

Andrew is committed to working with citizens, groups, and City Council to address these concerns, and improve quality of life in Thunder Bay.

He played a key role in the installation of the Thunder Canyon splash pad at North End Park, and the Arundel Active Living Corridor.

And his efforts to protect the greenspace at the former LPH  grounds saw a large part of the area designated as community space in the city’s official plan.

Andrew’s experience and dedication has also led to his serving on many boards and committees, including:

  • District of Thunder Bay Social Services Administration Board
  • Youth Advisory
  • Waterfront Development
  • Waterfront BIA
  • Lakehead Region Conservation Authority
  • Community and Cultural Appeals

Outside of council, Andrew has served as a vice-principal, department chair and teacher during his 20-year career as an educator.

He holds an Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto, and a Bachelor of Education from Queen’s.

Andrew is married to fellow teacher Kristine Hilden. He loves to travel, camp and fish with their children, Alex, Luke, and Matthew.
