Joe Virdiramo

Joe VirdiramoAs Councillor for Westfort, and a long-time resident in this community I have many years’ experience on Council. I am seeking your support for another term. I have strong leadership experience in all aspects of human resources, finance and strategic planning; a retired teacher, principal, superintendent and Director of Education with MA, BA, B Ed in Education degrees. I have extensive experience in lobbying all levels of government for jobs and economic development.

I hold regular Westfort ward meetings, share updates and listen to constituents’ viewpoints and challenges. As an advocate for solutions, I have been a catalyst for Westfort for fifteen years resulting in millions of dollars being spent on infrastructure, the new Mary J.L. Black Library, relocation of the George Jeffrey Children’s Centre, new Frederica Fire Hall, the Brown Street Ambulance Station re-purposed from the former fire hall, and keeping Heath Park Pool open. Through my work on committees I have assisted in bringing in millions of dollars to the city waterfront, the courthouse, lighting on the highway from Arthur Street to Red River Road, all in infrastructure funding.

I have the commitment and passion to make decisions that count. Decisions that will provide a future for our young people, the creation of new jobs, attracting new businesses and improving the quality of our life.

Vote for “Joe” on October 22nd and I will continue to work hard to make things happen.
