Marg ArnoneMarg was first elected to the Lakehead School Board in 2010. Over her two terms as a Trustee she has served on the following Committees: Special Education Advisory, Supervised Alternative Learning, Suspension Appeals/Expulsion, Parent Involvement, Audit Committee, Aboriginal Education Advisory, OPSBA Award Selection, Success Advisory, Board Development, OPSBA Director Liaison, Budget Chair, Lakehead Public Schools International and Procedural By Laws.

Marg has served her community for several years as a Labour Advisor for the United Way Board of Directors, as a team leader on their annual allocation process, visiting agencies, evaluating programs for charitable funding. She mentored local students each year during the Highschool Challenge assisting them through the interview process.

When Marg retired from nursing she decided to use her past experience to give back to her community. Currently she is the Secretary for the Thunder Bay & District Labour Council. She was the chair of her local union retiree chapter (Unifor) and represented retirees at the national level for several years.

Marg believes that education is the key to finding a life of fulfillment and happiness. She wants this for every child. A trustees job is to see that children have the opportunity to develop in a healthy way and to be educated in a safe environment with the goal of developing enlightened individuals, capable of caring for themselves and the next generation.
