Robin Rickards

Robin Rickards

I was born and raised in Thunder Bay and like many my age moved away in search of greater opportunities. During my time away I served with the Canadian Armed Forces and had the opportunity to live and work across Canada and the world. It was as a result of these experiences that I realized Thunder Bay was where I wanted to be, so I settled down here 14 years ago for good.

Over the years I have served in many roles:

- as a soldier in the Canadian Armed Forces for 11 years, including 4 overseas deployments.

- as a project coordinator of an adult education program for members of several Lake Nipigon First Nations.

- as a quality assurance inspector at Bombardier Transportation.

- as a shop steward with UNIFOR local 1075.

- as an executive member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1447.

- and most important is my role as father to my four children.

Elected office is about service to your constituents. When the potholes emerge, the ditches need cleaning, or the streets need plowing you need to trust that your councillor will get the job done. You also need a fighter who will battle for Neebing at budget time to hold on to the great quality of life you have.
