Tracey Mackinnon

I want to acknowledge the City of Thunder Bay is built on the traditional territory of Fort William First Nations, signatory to the Robinson Superior Treaty of 1850. I would also like to acknowledge the contributions made to our community by the Metis people.

Tracey MacKinnon was born in Cornwall, Ontario and moved to Thunder Bay, eight years ago from Vancouver British Columbia. Tracey is a mother of four fully grown sons & proud Kokum (grandmother) of one. Who in her spare time who dedicates herself to volunteer efforts city wide, she is also a Traditional Hand Drummer and has performed at the Valentine's Day Memory Walk, the Full Moon Memory Walk, Women's Marches, Walking with our Sisters, MMIWG, Honoring Our Stories & Sexual Assault: The Roadshow.

As a survivor of domestic violence and sexual assault Tracey is proof that you can overcome adversity and can utilize the experiences that you have gone through to help better a community.

Tracey was a front line support worker at Shelter House Thunder Bay & Elevate has thus seen the need in the community for improved services for mental health & drug addiction. Working from lived experience Tracey brings a new outlook to the issues of homelessness, racism, and poverty.

Tracey has proven her dedication to the community and is know for her on ground, practical knowledge of the city & it's issues, Tracey would make a remarkable Councillor-At-Large for the City of Thunder Bay.
