 Advance Voting and Voting Day Temporary Employment
The City is recruiting for a variety of customer-service focused, temporary election officials to assist with the Municipal Elections on October 22, 2018 and with Advance Voting Days, being held on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 until Friday, October 12, 2018.
When Will Appointments be Made?
Appointments will be made in late August/early September.  Thank you for your applications; however, only successful applicants will be contacted about training dates.
Submitting Applications

You may email your application (using the prescribed application form) to ThunderBayVotes@thunderbay.ca for consideration, or drop off your application to the Office of the City Clerk, 1st Floor of City Hall.

Who Can Apply? 
  • Qualified electors (see FAQs page for "Who is eligible to vote");
  • 18 years of age or older;
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada;
  • Excellent customer service and past election experience preferred;
  • Knowledge of other languages commonly spoken in the City are an asset;
  • Comfortable with and/or experience using optical scan automated vote counting tabulators;
  • For the positions of MDRO, AVTO and single poll DROs, individuals must have use of a vehicle on Voting Day;
  • Ability to work well both independently and as a team; and
  • Available to attend a required training session up to two weeks prior to Voting Day.

Note: Applicants cannot be a candidate or the spouse, sibling, parent, child, grandparent or grandchild of a candidate running in the October 22, 2018 Municipal Elections.
